Jani,

he is excellent, all parts made by himself, best craftmanship and with his son, a top gunmaker too and his wife Evelyn, a wonderful engraver he makes absolutely best guns. But of course for real hunting, not only for looking at. He will be in Nürnberg next year at IWA, I'm sure. Perhaps will make a book together with him.

Kind Regards,
Wolfgang

Wolfgang,
I bet he is first class, but quite expensive I'm sure. Where do the prices start?
A book would be very nice.

Jani,
you are right. But as you know, quality costs. I think he starts at 40.000-45.000 EUR
end open.... A 98er bolt action rifle starts at about 15.000 EUR. What do you mean a double gun enthusiast would pay for a well made book, let's say about 30 to 50 sides with hardback? Text in english of course. Should be nice to look at and some promotion for Max (or some other german fine gun makers) It's difficult to preestimate the interest in such books.

I just see, you are located in slovenia? Which location?

Kind Regards,
Wolfgang

Wolfgang, it may be that we may corrupt you with our language.

Ford, I plan to be at Troy University sometime in August and the week of Thanksgiving. You wouldn't be cooking chili or pigeon pie on either occasion would you?

Raimey,
I can cook chili, or something else whenever you can come.If you get time the week of Thanksgiving, you might get a chance to miss a deer.I mostly cook in the hunting camp anyway.

Wolfgang,
Even for American "yankees","southern" is hard to understand. It is like a Bavarian talking to a Schwabe.

Raimey,

there is no more to corrupte....

Mike,

I enjoy every idiom, but in fact, a bavarian sometimes is hard to understand.
Don`t know, if you ever have been in Cologne? Nice idiom too here :-))

Wolfgang,
I didn't go to Cologne, but I'm sure I would have enjoyed it.

Wolfgang,
The prices are similar to those of Ferlach makers.
As for the book, it's hard to say. He is not a well known maker outside Germany so the interest would be limited IMO.
I am located in Celje, about an hour drive south of Austria.
With kind regards,

Jani,

thanks! As for the book: I plan one about the present top German Gunmakers.
Think no more than around 5-10! But of course this needs time and the base will be some articles about them I will make.
I'm each year some days for hunting in Tirol, Austria but do not know Slovenia so far. A friend is hunting there and loves it.

Kind Regards,
Wolfgang

Wolfgang,

The book about the present German Gunmakers would be another story! Very good idea, I'm looking forward to see it in print.
When you have a chance come to Slovenia, and we can have a chat; beer is on me!

With kind regards,
Jani
