I stay quiet as much as I can. It will be hard for a fight to break out here so here I go. There are so many that we see that we of course would love to possess for our own enjoyment. I think that the TW Adolph Krag for me would be one that would while we all know of it I would enjoy owning it. Also, and I have forgotten the full story (Michael) the full stocked, G&H, engraved '03 was a spectacular rifle. Those with a connection. I have JOC's pre-A M52 that while not custom is great pre war rifle. Please don't force me into a few. Maybe we will break out the Paul Curtis Owen soon throat erosion and all.

How Mr. Curtis kept score on his Owen. I think that he originally had a single-lever G&H mount.

I have to think of some of the rifles which passed through my hands and I now wish I had never parted with. The Westley Richards drop lock Ovundo in .350 No. 2 and the Westley Richards drop lock S/S in .256 (6.5X53R) come to mind. I wonder where they are today.

Kind Regards,

Townsend Whelen's Wundhammer. Doesn't get much more Holy Graily than that, in my opinion. I think a close second would be S.E. White's. Everybody else pretty much walked in those footprints.

Roosevelt's rifle is unobtainable, so doesn't count.

Sorry to hear you've been ill Michael - best wishes for full health!!

The chaplain was ill and shaky in his last days when he told me the story. I can't remember the baron's name---it was a long time ago---and all I know it was after a fierce infantry and armoured engagement in the Hochwald.
