The so called Crossman rifle at NRA they say it has initials "ECC" are inlaid in gold on the receiver ring. I don't see that and the rifle has a VL&D number.

I noticed that Michael - the ECC, I mean. I toured that museum last fall and there were several things that made me scratch my head...

Time for more research, grab them books and go to work ;-).

When I was a lot younger I had a opportunity to go through the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum - Oklahoma City. Downstairs they had a gunsmith shop and out front they had a half-dozen Sharps rifles, everyone was wrongly marked. What I had to say fell on death (deaf) ears.

I did some checking and the rifle at the NRA Museum is Crossman's. It is pictured many times in one of his books. I still don't see the gold "ECC".

Another clue to the my pick.

They only made what would be called "Best" guns using Italian Walnut and 100% Kornbrath engraved.
