I have an old Verney Carron underlever. I was told it was made around 1892-94. It is a 20 ga. Does anyone happen to know where in France these were manufactured? Thanks, George

George, you can go to their website: http://www.verney-carron.com They're still in business, but unfortunately no longer making side by sides.

The current SXS guns listed in the V-C catalog are made in Spain. They still make SXS's in France but sell them under the Demas name. http://www.demas.fr/

Ken, that's interesting. Wonder if it's a fairly recent thing. I have an older Demas catalog which does not mention anything about V-C.
V-C's are not uncommon in the States. I've owned a couple, seen several. Steve Barnett has had a very nice sidelock on his website for quite some time.

I almost ended up with "Jonesy UL" 450/400 3&1/4" crafted ca. 1900 at rue de la Republique. Very lovely, in terms of quality that "Tigre Hunter" was equal to Westley Richards of Bhm. The guy to ask is Yanni, but he got chased away from here by Jones, Smith? of NC whoose family came of the Mayflower no dout.
