I've had Model 23's and found them to be very heavy (and almost twice the price).
I was afraid of the RBL at almost 4 times the cost. Shooting a .410 can be humbling. Being humbled by a 10K .410 could be painful.

My solution, I ordered a DeHaan.
DeHaan SGrS, .410, 30" Barrels, Single bead, Mod/IC, Double triggers, Extractors, Manual Safety,
English Stock, Grade 4, Tear Drop, Skeletal Butt, Semi Beaver-tail,

Very nice, most of the DeHaans I have seen had those gosh awful gold ducks on the side.

I wasn't sure they were still doing custom orders, I thought there was a "shake up" with the manufacturer. If you don't mind me asking what was your delivery time?

Thanks,
CHAZ

Nice looking gun, I like the specs too, especially the double triggers and 30" barrels (I get tired of seeing .410's with 26" barrels). Combine that with the straight stock and M/IC chokes and you should do very well with the gun. Years ago I had a .410 Nitro Special. The modified barrel shot great patterns out past 30 yards. I'm still angry with myself for not obtaining the exact bore measurements of that barrel so that I could emulate it on later .410's I've owned.

5 or 6 years ago when Mark DeHaan still had the in stock S2 models, I acquired one in .410 with 30" IC&M barrels and one in 28 gauge with 28" barrels. I think these were some of the last ones before he went strictly custom order.....they were around $1,000 each. My .410(pictured below) is a hoot to play and hunt with. I had my 2 great nephews shooting clays over the pond yesterday with these guns and they smacked targets completely well past 30 yards with both guns, but preferred the .410; I had to hold them back or I wouldn't have had any shells left! My only regret is I didn't get one of the S2's in 16 gauge. Now, I'll have to go special order for the case-hardened gun.

My SGrS .410 will be in my hands tomorrow! A few years ago, I had a DeHaan SO in .410. It was my 'go-to grouse gun' for a long time. My SGrS is like yours, with the exception of a splinter forend.

Gary; has the single trigger been OK? I have 12 year old Huglu S1 SST that has been perfect, the selector/safety butter smooth and it's seen a lot of miles.

Verrry nice gun Bob

No problems of any kind with either gun...single trigger has worked without a hitch. I also have an SO DeHaan 20 gauge with 27" barrels and double triggers, splinter, st. grip...but it has been hanging around College Station, Texas with my son for the last 5 years. I will probably order one of the 16 ga. custom order guns from Mark this year. st. grip, splinter, 30" barrels.....

That line of questioning led me to double triggers, extractors and a manual safety.

Seems like just yesterday your "count down" clock had hundreds of days left on it.
Pictures please, and don't forget the gentlemens on the other site.

Best,
Bob
