Like most things in life, the answer to your question is "it depends." It depends on how much buying and selling you are doing, what type of firearms you are buying and selling, how much government involvement you mind, etc.
I'll limit my comments to the C&R license and add that it sure is nice to have an auction purchase delivered right to your home than to have to involve a thrid-party. If you buy VINTAGE guns more than occassionally, I would say yes it is worth it. You can check out the details of what is involved and what a C&R allows and does not at
