Never met him personally but greatly appreciated, learned and enjoyed his posts...along with a dozen other "greats" from this board who have passed from this life. They all added so much dignity to our discussions. Damn, I miss them!

Bought my first ever sxs from Bill, back on the old board, I introduced myself and asked him if he new of a decent vintage gun , for sporting clays...he sold me a superb 1926 32" 12 bore 20e Francotte vent rib pigeon gun, just like in the repro catalog I have. That led to quite a few emails, I got his hat size n sent him a tweed cap & a couple of found fossils when I was over in Ireland one time, for his mojo bag! What a pure Gentleman, you'd never guess what he was going through.I think of old Bill quite often, would love to have met the man franc

I was just thinking to myself recently that this board sure seems tame and quiet without Bill around. We are all poorer for his passing.

I recently was in the Life Saving Station Museum in Ocean City, MD and Bill Wise is mentioned in the exhibit about the surfer culture coming to the area.

I spent my teenage and early twenty years in Ocean City and Delaware north of the state line on the Ocean, but never knew Bill and never surfed on his part of the beach. It didn't matter, Bill never made me prove my bonafides. He was satisfied that I was a Lindner Daly researcher and a pigeon shooter and researcher of pigeon shooters. Imagine that. What a weird come together of interests. I would kill to have known Bill when we were both in Ocean City in the sixties. I could write books about Ocean City in the sixties, as could Bill. I could write books about pigeons, as could Bill. I met him later in both of our lives and I love him. Bill Murphy

That is one great picture. If that does not make you smile you never knew Bill. One of my top five missed posters on this board. I also loved the picture of him and the dove feather. The man did not quit living no matter what came along.

I dearly miss Bill. What an example!
Michael, thanks for the great photo.
Bill/Eightbore, thank you for the thread.

Somewhere on this forum, there is the color picture of Bill and me in his living room waving guns around while involved in the photo shoot for the Matska gun article. Another collaborator on that article was the late great forum member, Geno, who was not in Delaware that day. Murphy
