Just spoke to Dave at B&P USA today as I have had a case of these back ordered since May. He says he has a shipment coming in tomorrow from Italy. I doubled my order to 2 cases as they are the most effective 16 gauge shell I have hunted with and they are so intermittently available. Yes they are thumpers but I only shoot them through a modern 16b AYA model 53. My vintage 16s don't see this 9,867 psi shell. Also, note that these are 20 round boxes (200 rounds per case). Agree with an earlier thread that RST 1oz are the way to go there.

A new twist from B&P that Dave told me about today. Six weeks ago they started a $12.95 per order handling fee but no shipping. So $13 per order....1 case or 10 cases.

"Handling Fee," my ass. That's just a flat rate shipping charge. Handling is part of selling anything, retail or wholesale. Somebody has to pull it off the shelf and hand it or ship it to the customer. The cost of handling the merchandise is baked into their margins. Just another way to take advantage of the customer, similar to what the airlines have been doing.

From their website the new B&P distributor Aerostar Outdoors is going to charge a flat rate $7.50 per flat for FedEX ground & it looks like most hunting loads including the 12 ga High Pheasant in both 1 oz & 1 1/16 oz & the 16 ga F2 1 1/16 oz will be in and ready to ship in December of this year.

I'm especially happy to see the High Pheasant 1 1/16 oz of #5 shot back in the line.

I would be tickled to see the High Pheasant #5 available also, but I do not at this time share your belief that Aerostar will have them to ship in December. Unless they have prebooked more sales than they had three weeks ago when I last spoke with Kari, it might not happen, if I understood her correctly.

She told me then that she had to order a minimum of 600 flats from the Italians and needed enough prebooks to believe that the numbers were there to justify such an order.

I'm just going by what is on their website re. expected shipping dates..

I talked to Kari early on & she gave me the same info on needing a 600 flat order to get B&P to produce them.

I committed to 3 flats of the High Pheasant 1 1/16 #5 & I have 13 boxes on hand. I can't justify ordering more as much as I like that load. It's excellent & I use it in my 2 3/4" chambered guns.

Hopefully she can get enough orders to pull it off if we get the word out.

That is pretty much what I hope will happen. If the folks who like and use that load will place even a one flat order, we could keep the load available.
