I bought back the JC Higgins 12ga bolt action that I bought at a second hand store for $2.50 when I was 10. I sold it to a neighbor boy in 1968 for $10.00. I bought from a friend in 1998 for $25.00. His father had bought it from the neighbor boy in the late 70's. I can still shoot it about as well as any gun I own. I would hate to think how many shells it has fired. I know I loaded hundreds of paper shells with a LEE Handloader to shoot in it. This was back when the local Hardware store would sell you (Kids)powder by the ounce and shot by the pound. I wish it was still that way.
