Gil, while the risk of anyone here having a duel or pursuing a libel claim against the owner of the site or anyone else is pretty much non-existent, the content of your post is is right on.
Geo, during the earlier mudslingathon, one of the participants actually "called" his "opponent" out for "satisfaction" You can't make this stuff up. Gil

And people can get into heated arguments online...without actualy disliking each other on a personal level.
But we could if we were to find ourselves in the same city....sit down and have a friendly beer together.
So things are not always as they may appear.
I tend to agree. Especially the last bit. There is a whole lot we don't know when our whole relationship is on line. There are a couple members here I know personally, but only through our shared interest in SxS's. A couple hours in their presence, at the range, afield or at home and I know way more about who they are then I would in two years of reading their posts.
The world cries out for such: he is needed & needed badly- the man who can carry a message to Garcia

I was offended by this same bullshit and banter a while ago in another thread here, and expressed it to little effect ...my fondness for the man aside ,this really do get long in the tooth after a time.
We are born different ,no say to it...learning to accept it makes us all better people, there's no doubt to that. But this pelt who seems to feel its his goal in life to pick away at King's character at every post is beyond tiresome ,we all feel were ultimately right about something like mine is the best gun ,best dog ,best woman ,best religion, car, truck ,bird ground ... the list could be practically endless. And I'm sure we have all had times where we thought someone else was ultimately wrong about something, and no doubt others have felt the same about us ,whether we realized it or not...but never has anyone every spoke to me in this manner ,nor would I shame myself into doing the same .
Although I've yet to shake his hand, King was in town with his wife a few months ago ,and wasn't able to drop by...but he was fine enough a gentleman to go through the trouble and look up my phone number for a quick chat and apology for not having the time . He could have just as easily had a cup of tea and went to bed ,why bother with someone you don't really know?

Delivery aside, don't the comments stem from actual quotes. Since he was brought up, a fellow like nca was probably 'called out' because he said he got vd from another posters daughter, not because he had a comment on an issue.
King's more a representative to me. Proactively pushing the progressive agenda rather than just having an opinion. Has many intolerant comments about faith, republicans, conservatives, etc, but gladly plays with the cover of pc and civility. I think he ain't a half bad pot stirrer.
Still, if I ran into King some day, I'd shake his hand and introduce myself. Promised him I'd buy his adventure book if he puts one out, but I might not read it. I think he'd understand, with so much in this world and so little time to do it that it wouldn't be a bid deal if kumbaya didn't spring forth and we moved on our merry way.

The liberals are asking us to give Obama time. We agree, and think 25 to life would be Appropriate.

You can beat a dead horse, but you can't make him drink.

I like King, I like him not. I like King, I like him not. I like King, I like him not. I like King, I like him not. I LIKE KING!

I've stayed out of this till now. Boy has these thead(s) run their course. If I was symbolically standing along side it with a 45 auto I'd put a bullet through it and put it out of it's misery.
