I could not do anything with the old pigskin. Too far gone and died to cover cracks. I got the the old Pigskin off with solvent on a small brush. The wool baize lining is in good shape as was the frame. The buckles are brass and buffed up nicely. I had lots of coaching from an expert leather worker friend who made me practice every piece. So far I am happy with the result. New exterior is cow leather not pigskin. After this I know why no one wants to do this. I thought it was English manufacture but friend says Spanish mid to late 1800s
