The leather covered spring steel "hoop" slides onto the barrels, the T shaped fitting goes into the buttstock in the oval shaped piece of steel seen next to it. The oval shaped piece is the only thing that has to be fitted to the stock, no solder or heat on the metal. When it is removed, one can't tell the gun has a sling installed, no clanking swivels installed.
