Without even attempting to take sides on the pros & cons of a sling on a shotgun, I do kinda wonder why if this devise is made of "Spring Steel" & then pushed down on the tapered barrels until it is a tight fit one would come up with the idea it is not "Spring Loaded". Whether I agree with Joe on its use or not, he does seem to understand its mechanics.
No, he doesn't. The spring steel doesn't fit tight to the barrels-the leather does. It is more supple and compressable than the steel could be. The steel itself is heavier gauge than you might imagine, and is spring steel so it holds it's shape over time. If it weren't wrapped in a good grade of leather, it would rattle on down to the fore end wood, and be stopped by it.
The way I look at a topic with dumbass jOe is, if he is here, making an ass out of himself, at least he isn't pestering someone like Rookhawk, and trying to get his guns for free, or showing off all the knowledge he doesn't have about screw grip guns. He is a lot like a housecat that craps in the cellar when the pastor is visiting on Sunday, and you are just happy he didn't crap in the parlor, on the pastor's shoes.
Best,
Ted
