I don't hunt now. But I do take my dogs hunting. But if it wasn't for them I wouldn't even go out in the field.
You are right. We got about the same amount of birds before we had bird dogs as we did after.

In that case, make your life easy and buy the SA4505 Durable Canvas slip case from Dixie Gun Works and stitch a leather strap of your choice to it. If you want soft, buy the same thing in Moose or Deer skin, although the canvas is more durable.
SA4505 is available in lengths of 52", 63" and 48" and has a nice flap for easy gun removal and you can leave the flap open (tucked inside) if you choose for really easy removal......
Saves on button rub, brush rub, trees, cactus, animals, trucks, rocks and other mars and scratches from outside sources even an unforseen slip..........and they are cheap, buy a couple, two or three....I think they are $10.95 each.....
