doug: you make good points, cept a deer bled out and not dead for too long still makes good venison. and, then there is the joy of the little doggie when he finds what he is trailing, plus there is the joy of the hunter in the retrieval of his kill and the sure knowledge that the animal is not suffering as a result of his actions...hopefully, the predators will be happy as they still get the blood and guts.
