The adress on the top rib of an old German gun is usually that of the retailer, who bought in "his" guns from the gunmakers to the trade in Suhl, Zella-Mehlis or even Liege, Belgium. The proof- and other marks you find inside the action and under the barrels may point to the real maker and the date of your gun.
