I measured the barrel wall thickness and one barrel is .045 at the muzzle. With BP 3 dram loads and 1 1/8 oz shot would pressures be low enough to avoid a catastrophe?

Over the years I have seen many guns at Ontario gun shows marked J. Manton and Co; In pre-internet days, I once travelled a significant distance to see a gun that the owner was convinced was a genuine near mint Manton.
What I found was a near mint gun similar yours,which as stated by others is of Belgian origin. This spurious gun was marketed by;The H & D Folsom Arms Co; of 312-314 Broadway, New York, NY.
J. Manton & Co; is one of over 100 brand names used by Folsom.Another of their name brand names frequently encountered is W. Richard. Both the Manton and Richards guns look much the same, the only variance is usually name.Folsom claimed to be in business from 1859-1954. Other companies associated or merged with Folsom are, Crescent Fire Arms, Co,& Davis-Warner Arms Co.
