I just had a great afternoon with a BBS member near FT Bliss Texas.

I have had a number of invitations from BBS members over the years to hunt, shoot or gather to admire fine guns. due to other more pressing needs, I was never able to do this.
I found my self at FT Bliss coming back from my last Afghanistan Tour.I have been redeploying through FT Bliss Texas for 2 weeks. I was invited by a BBS member to get together and view some of his guns.
I went to his house and was invited in and spent more than an hour and a half examining, drooling over and fondling many fine doubles. My host treated me very well and this interlude from the banality and frustration of dealing with the military bureaucracy was truly the high point of my stay I the great state of Texas.
My thanks to this gentleman for his hospitality. I will keep his name and location and guns confidential for security reasons. He can weigh in if he wants.
I just wanted to share this with the board to show that there are guys on here who are true gentlemen.

Anything beats military bureaucracy, Brian. And looking at fine guns . . . that's no contest!

Thanks for your service, and hope you're home soon. Given the scheduled withdrawal from Afghanistan, maybe this was your last deployment.

Brian,
We really appreciate your service and sacrifice, and your family's sacrifice too. "Keep your head down".
