builder Sidelock Joined: May 2004 Posts: 2,092 Likes: 13 New Jersey	When the pad is expendable, replaceable or damaged, I have left the pad, ground it down flat using it as if it were a spacer and added the new pad. I have done this on a couple of guns that had curved butt end and/or a widows peak at the top of the stock. So many guns, so little time!
