Here's one for you guys. I recently aquired a rare LC Smith Trap Grade 20 GA. As far as I can tell, there were 348 Trap Grade 20's made, about 130 with 26in barrels, and even a few less with the single trigger. However, the stock is not original, and neither is the butt plate. I've been kicking around the idea if having it restored, the stock cut to 14.5 in LOP, and adding a Silvers pad, which would be period specific. As far as I can tell the chambers, bores, barrels, and chokes seem to be unaltered as well, which only leaves a stock with numbers that don't match. Would you guys leave it as is? Restore is, or heaven forbid, even lengthen the chambers to 2 3/4 and use it as a shooter?
