Michael, based off of the Hoffmans shown, should we presume that John Wright was the carver/checkerer of them? We've seen at least two distinct styles with G&H, the Adolph 'incised' style and the carved style of Wright more common with Hoffmans.
Every time I presume I seem to make more mistakes in attributions. Now I try to judge each rifle on it's own merits and try not to make any blanket statements.
There were three Wrights, John Sr, sons John Jr. and Samuel G. Wright.
John Jr. came to the US first and I believed worked for G&H before moving to Hoffman. Did all three or only on Wright do this type of stock work I just don't know.
This rifle is marked "John Wright & Sons Kansas City Mo" at a time when both sons were living in Cleveland , Ohio.
