I think that Greibel engraved 31 was shown in the Gun Digest Engraving section at least once. Maybe a different 31 with the same pattern, It just looks familiar.
He took the factory markings and serial number off the left side of the rec'vr.
Then added the ser# back onto the bottom of the rec'vr, hand cut.
That was the normal way Remington would do serial numbers on factory engraved guns.
Those factory markings can get in the way of a fine game scene.
I see someone 'ported' the bbl on that fine old gal.
Well,,, I withdraw my $10.5K bid then.
??,,,wasn't the vent rib on the M31 made as one piece with the bbl?? or did I dis-remember that incorrectly from somewhere.
