Hello all. First post to this forum.

I have a set of 16ga Baker Gun Co barrels in the 17000's with the F serial number, along with matching iron and wood. I think the serial number makes this one of the latest made by Folsom.

My question is regarding whether or not these barrels will fit (with the typical amount of work) to a 16ga Baker G&F receiver, or if they will only work with another Folsom era gun? I am having trouble finding information regarding changes to the frame sizes over the years.

Also, were the 16ga frames larger than 20ga frames, or were 16/20 gauge frames the same?

Will

I have seen Folsom barrels fit to Baker Gun and Forging Co. receivers, but I don't know the amount of work required. In general the Folsom barrels will be narrower across the breech than the Baker Gun and Forging Co. breech.

I measured a couple of Folsom 16 and 20 gauges and find that the 20 gauge frame is slightly narrower at the bar and sideplates. Very small difference.

Thank you for sharing the knowledge, and for taking the time to respond.

I am still looking for my first Baker small bore, and trying to decide what to do with these 30" 16ga barrels.
