I am one of the agitators for a change in venue because of the service last year. I spoke to Wally's daughter who is one of the principals of the event since Wally's passing. She heard our request but can't find an affordable venue the size of the Riviera.
I will say that my room was cleaned every day this year. The new pub has a better menu and greater choices of beers than the English Pub last year. Everybody at our table at the steak house got their meal this year. The coffee stand in the casino was open this year, but the service was still incredibly slow.
By going through Hotels.com I originally got an inferior room without enough room for our Lefever meeting. They did move me but for a cost. I believe they are giving preference to those who get their rooms via the hotel website. I am told there was no difference in price between the hotel website and Hotels.com.
I think the traffic on Saturday was down from last year and there is essentially no non-vender traffic on Sunday. Some dealers told me sales were up.
