I really like this project as well. I concur on the peep sight which frankly adds a jarring note to me to an otherwise clean design.
As an aside: I think ole Ansley himself would approve of this project!

Dewey, congratulations on a great project. It gives us an "out" for cut off shotguns of character. Bill Murphy

What a beautiful rendition of a great idea. But for my myopic eyes I would cry for a claw mount for a stubby scope, quarter rib and all!

Have to say that the peep sight is not what I would necessarily want.

All the best

Dewey,

Is this going to use Foster full gauge slugs or saboted slugs? Great job!

Thanks.
Fully rifled barrels perform best with sabot-type slugs.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
When I originally envisioned the gun a peep sight was the furthest thing from my mind, the future-owner requested that a peep sight be added. I tried many configurations (on paper) including a tang-sight that folded into a longitudinally split safety slide and one that was hidden the rib. The problem with the other ideas was that there was no way that I could see to provide for any adjustability (due to space constraints). To go to the lengths required to make any of the other designs a reality and have nothing more than a fixed aperture did not seem like a worthy endeavor. Sometimes it's hard to balance artistic integrity with a happy patron.
It looks a lot better in person than it does in the photos and the slide is removable with no tools.

Very Nice!

Are the fresh tubes threaded or just sweated into the mono-block?
