I have a few RBl's and I'm also in the 4x crowd.
Shinbone, I thing you got screwed on your "4x" wood. That's exhibition in my book!

All of those are some great looking pieces. I think the only difference between 4X and presentation is in the eye of the beholder/grader. I think I did very well on this gun and got it for a lot less than what a used RBL with fence post grade would have cost. JW

The low end wood on RBLs I've seen has been a little better than fence post grade. Here's my 16 for example -- not like the high end wood shown here, but I wasn't disappointed.

Dick I did ask CSMC about the gun. No info as it was as they call it a " shop gun." Made to be sold out of the showroom. They did say it was made in 2011.

Chas,
Hey, you better send that one back-they forgot to put the other trigger in it!

Just kidding. How much time does it get in the field, compared to the model 21 with the pretty dog engraved on it?

Both are very nice guns, by the way.

Best,
Ted

Thanks Ted. Pretty near 50/50 I think. More open chokes in the 21 (WS1/WS2) so I always use it early season, and again later when snow deepens in heavier pheasant cover.

You thinking about a setter pup as your older dog gets near retiring?
