Jakearoo, thanks...You're right ..on all accounts...even the part about info to share...I do have alot of info that's not out there yet... I did a lot of research work for friends, Bill Brophy (L C Smith author) and Bruce Jennings (Newton Arms author)...in fact, I still have the missing chapter on Emil Flues and the Ithaca Flues model, It's only the most prolific American double ever produced, yet strangely it's missing from the Ithaca book, except for a few pages...Bill Brophy didn't know about the rarest Smith til after his book was published. At the time of publication he thought it was the whippet grade, it's not, but if I try to enlighted the members here at the BBS it would turn into gang fight..and I'm the one with all the negatives of the gun factories along the Erie Canal (actually Harry Dean's files), I'm the one with all the data about American damascus steel makers at Motts Corners near Ithaca NY, just to name a few...I come here to offer this data to anyone who will use in good spirit...If I try to share this rare info with good natured members like yourself, the sharks would discredit my posts before I could even post them...this board is not open yet, it still belongs to the playground bullies...It's like I have to beg these egotistical collectors to learn our firearm history...as you can see, I am the fish out of water here...but I like the way you think...thank you

TO ALL THE OTHER READ ONLY MEMBERS who also get run over and treated so pedestrian here..... please note that this posted question had been inactve since Oct of last year, everyone had ample time to submit their correct answer to this posting. I thought it was safe to respond to this otherwise dead question. After five months if inactivity, within hours of my responce, 3 members began posting with no intention to answer or address in any way the posted question, but merely discredit my responce in advance before I could figure out how to post the picture that would answer the original question. They will strip the validity out of your responce in advance here, and if you don't like it, then you're on drugs and you are the problem...It's still not safe to post a purely factual responce here...they're not even aware of their behavior, let alone the losses their behavior costs everyone.

Guys!
Can I pour some oil on troubled water here?
I know in the visual mode of postings it is easy for discussion to become confrontational but remember that we are all supposed to be corresponding in a jovial and mutually respectful atmosphere - sharing beliefs, knowledge and interest in the things we all share a passion for.
We won't all agree and sometimes we have strong opinions that clash - if we were in a bar having a chat over a beer on these subjects , I doubt things would get so heated because we would have eye contact and body language and can seek to qualify wat we say or retract an overly strong statement. Here we can't.
Not sure how such a simple question generated so much heat - but can we cool it and draw a line under the nastyness?

Fellows: There is one aspect of threads as this that greatly distresses me. Some relish seeing such descension !!!! Please note Small Bore's post; take a breath and consider that information, even controversial information, should be shared without rancor and heated words. Best, John

Hi Mr. John, so good to see you back --- don't hear much from you anymore. However, when you do comment, it's pure gold. Thanks for your opinion & request. With highest regards, Ken

Hey Lowell ...could I send you (or anyone else) the pics to be posted quickly so that we can end this thread as soon as possible...the High tech gang got busted shortly before this website started, but the damage still lingers and not one stolen gun has been recovered YET...all the great guns went to unknown collectors...many of the Winch's went to Chris's friend Shane and the lower graded doubles went to "Kenny" to be parted out rather than sold whole...but that's a jubject for a whole new thread... Small bore...you're right we should be jovial...but it's hard when some members (3 at a time) choose to gut the credability right out of your words before you can finish...These words I post are not without cost, they are if your just a windbag...but if you have to take a screwdriver to a sidelock just to back your words then there is a certain measure of cost associated...even if it's just your time, let alone if you accidentially bugger a screw...At any time these windbags could just delete their unwarrranted postings and I would do the same...but they choose not to......MR MANN...are you the member that stated that he saw the stolen/missing Haile Selassie gun(made by Flues) in a CIA firearms museum in Langley Virginia? Was that you Mr.Mann? I have a printed copy of the thread somewhere. It was this this thread that caused everyone to assume I was black... and finally to Jakeroo ... I'm sorry, my intentions were not to be a "tease", I was tring to point out that I already have far more collector data than I can assimilate in the time I have left...besides, without others to share it with, it's worthless...the point I was trying to make is .. How much do these guys have to offer some "has been" researcher like myself? My day has passed...the ONLY reason that I am here is for the info I have to offer to the next generation...if these guys don't want it, what more can I do? This much is for sure, I'll put my files in the garbage before I give one more page to the sharks...This weekend is the Syracuse Gun Show (NYS Collectors Association) and the Batavia Gun show...I'll be there all weekend with my ID on...

Well Bob, I see you are back. You have made quite the splash! Even without me commenting, you have brought me into your squabble. I probably haven't talked to you in about 20 years and yet you keep bringing me up. You say I have said disparinging comments about you, yet it is always you who do this. And you flatter yourself! I don't know who your collecting friends are, and why would I want to even talk about you. Why did you come back? Was it to truley offer information? Then offer it, oh I know, then the sharks would get it. I'm sure you have a wealth of information, some that none have ever seen, so make a decision to post or not. Stop bringing everything down into the gutter.
