Possible LOW pressure shells.

The slug apparently had more pressure and ironed the fired primer out flat.

We see backed out primers in very low pressure pistol loads for the same reason.... the pressure isn't adequate to drive the case head against the breech face.

The firing pin indents do not show any drag marks, but the adges of the craters around the indents show drag marks from the holes in the breech face. Also, the indents on the remington are pushed up almost flat, with raised craters. Very hard to open, when both barrels are fired. Will try the Winchester today, firing into my half buried test barrel, filled with old fiberglass insulation, and generations of deaf field mice living in it. Slug load showed normal indent, berdan primer.

OK, latest update! Winchester shell from 4-5 years ago shows normal indent, no dragging, no cratering. Must be some soft primers, or high pressure from newer Remmies. Thanks for your inputs, y'all.
