Actually, Ripon was said to be able to do just that. He wouldn't use the early Schultze powder because he said it was 'not as fast as No2 black'. Nobody at Schultze believed him at first, but then they ran precision tests and lo! their powder proved to have considerably longer barrel time indeed!
