I have had zero problems with UPS as a shipper in terms of them accepting weapons from me (non-FFL) to ship to an FFL.

I have had problems for a time with my receiving FFL (local pawnshop) on internet (gunbroker.com) purchases. Initially they required that the weapon originate from an FFL in order to accept it. Bitter experience for them led them to this policy. However after we got used to each other and they realized all my purchases and transfers were old SxS guns, they waived it for me although they maintain for others. Most of their internet agent business is black guns and they are very careful in that trade as they want to stay in trade.

I have on one occasion ship a gun from my Father's home in Virginia to myself using UPS without issue. I personally went to the counter in Virginia to send it and fly home to Kansas and was there to accept it. I received no issue from UPS, but I did show them my Kansas Drivers license that contained to receiveing address and clearly explained what I was doing and why. I have found talking to them helps and carrying ATF and UPS policy print outs with the web address for them to check (they naver have yet) helps too.

I realize that their are uneducated UPS staff, but to date I have encountered good ones.
