At the range the other day trying out various guns for fit and function. Ages and type ranged from a 1939 M37 to a 1914 M12 (all pre-WWII), including two 20s, two 16s and one 12.

The winner will ultimately be my back-up gun this coming Fall. You do know that it is less-than 120 days to the grouse opener in Minnesota?

Has anyone won at the Olympics with a pump gun since Mark Arie with his Marlin in 1920 at Antwerp? Jay R. Graham won the trap shooting championship at Stockholm in 1912 with a Remington Pump.

What was Mr. Graham shooting? That looks like what became the Model 10.

If the gun was made by Remington Arms Co. it was the Remington Repeating Shotgun, 1910 and earlier. If it was made by Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co. it was the Model No. 10, 1911 and later.

Looks like Graham shot a Model 10 or a pre Model 10. I guess Remington was pushing sponsorship at that time. Until the Remington Model 10, the 1897 and 97 Winchester was the hot lick in pump guns.

Right on. I'll be out there, probably participating in my own "pumpgun Olympics" with my 16ga 31L.

Ok, the "double" gun theme lured me in. smile

Grandfather's (and dad's) 12 ga. M-10, and my DES/TSD re-stocked 16 ga. 31L.
