Rib flattening is ex factory IMO and the gun is just a common DHE. Lots of other information is needed but the four thousand is way over what I'd pay for a shooter. It is not a collector's gun.

Looks like a rib flattening job, perhaps to get rid of heavy damage to the edges. The matting certainly fades w/the ribs concave form and (new) flats.
..and the xtra bead at the beginning of the bbl address is neat.

Screwed up screws, refinished wood, flattened rib, pad, no color, no blue & a 12ga.
Looks like a single trigger in the first pic,,but maybe I'm just not seeing it right. Ejectors are a plus of course.

Like Joe says, lots more info is needed.
But not knowing anything else about it, there's still too many things wrong already for the asking price,.

$2000 tops with all the non original modifications. A PGCA letter may give you some help if the gun was made in 1919 or before. If you will post pictures of the trigger, we can tell you if it is a Parker trigger or aftermarket.

Totally agree with Eightbore, and that's before knowing that the ejectors work OK and the single trigger doesn't double on you. The Del Gregos make a nice living repairing Parker ejectors.

Yeah, I have seen the listings on GI, Ed. Gotta sort through all those repros to find the real ones, but there are a couple on there for sure. Of course those are all asking price, not selling price. Seems to be a huge gap between the two most days.

Oh I think had a collector mention that price to him. The current holder is not a double gun guy and it unfamiliar. My guess is that he will adjust accordingly.
