I always thought that the Rem electric priming idea was a good thing for benchrest shooting, no vibration from striker fall, etc. But the primers were expensive, and only available in 1000 packages, so I never tried to convert my target rifle to electric ignition. A fairly simple thing for a guy like me with an EE degree to do--just need to insulate the firing pin from the bolt body, very light spring, and a microswitch for a trigger, strobe circuit from a disposable camera, etc.
