I keep thinking I want a Model 21, but when it comes time, I talk myself out of it. Found one in my travels today. Perfectly normal hunted gun, no special features , no flaws. Definite wear on edges, original all around , non ejector 12 ga M/F. Sub 2000 serial. I offered 3200 on 3500. They said no. Is a respectable 21 ever gonna be a 3000 gun? Is 3500 a price you pay and smile?

Hmm. I was going to say that $4500 is probably a normal price, maybe a bit less. Then you said no ejectors. That's a bit of an odd duck among 21s. The $3200-3500 range you cited is probably about right.

I picked up an early field grade 21 a few years ago, double trigger, IC/M and extractors only. Very nice gun, excellent condition and was in the mid 3K range. I definitely smiled when I walked away with it.

DO NOT let $300 keep you from buying a 21

Let's not forget the extra $250 in sales tax. Plus it isn't the $300. It's the $3500!

I agree with Skeetx. $300 shouldn't kill the deal. A NE, likely double triggers? Any American who loves SxS shotguns should have a Model 21 IMHO. $3500 is a very fair price for a sound 21, I think. Most are more than that, good ones anyway.

you are better off with a browning bss...better gun for much less money...or if you want a heavy clubby gun like the model 21, then buy a stevens 311...or maybe eigth, one for each day of the week, plus a spare... you will still be ahead. 21's are way over priced for what they are.

I bought a Standard Skeet Model 21 built the 3rd day of original FACTORY production in 1936. 12GA., Upgraded Wood, Straight English Grip, Checkered Butt, 26 in. WS1&2, EJECTORS, AND IN PERFECT UNUSED CONDITION...ONE OWNER..SAT IN THE GUN CASE,PRISTINE. This was 4yrs ago for $4500....never regretted it for a moment. The only thing that would have made things perfect would have been, 20GA. with a splinter forearm,it has a Beavertail with Kidney Pattern Checkering Pattern...still a winner! Jerry
