I keep thinking I want a Model 21, but when it comes time, I talk myself out of it. Found one in my travels today. Perfectly normal hunted gun, no special features , no flaws. Definite wear on edges, original all around , non ejector 12 ga M/F. Sub 2000 serial. I offered 3200 on 3500. They said no. Is a respectable 21 ever gonna be a 3000 gun? Is 3500 a price you pay and smile?
Honest wear is what I would want on old double. It is your money. I would not pay and smile but in todays market it is worth $3500. It is wrong to think of this piece as a shotgun it is better thought of as hedge against inflation. After very long search my hunting rifle turned out to be hard kicking Model 88 .308 made in first of this model production. It is hard to imagine niceer or better handling mass produced rifle. When it comes to guns Winchester rifles are far better than their shotguns. With Remington it's just the opposite. Are you sure you do not want Depression Era Wonder aka Remington model 32?
