Hey Guys: I like the rest of us, are always buying Shooting Collectibles against a hedge on inflation [.5% interest at the bank on a GOOD DAY!] and to donate to Organizations for fund raising. Here is proof a blind pig occasionally finds an acorn! This is a copy of Paul Curtis' "GAME SHOOTING IN AMERICA" published in 1927. Imagine my delight when I opened the book's pictures and discovered an inscription from Paul Curtis to Bob Owen and then an inscription from Owen to a H.W. Hennis(?), a good friend to Owen but unknown to me. I at first, thought this may have just been written in the front of a copy, but I have a copy of BOOK OF THE SPRINGFIELD signed by Curtis. I also have a signed letter with provenance to a Owen rifle I own. However I noticed an s on Owen's name that does not belong, signed by someone else? What gives? Without claiming to be trained in handwriting analysis, the signatures APPEAR genuine. Either way I thought you would find this interesting. UPDATE! I HAD A GENTLEMAN FROM N.Y. SEND ME AN EMAIL WITH A PIC SHOWING OWEN'S SIGNATURE ON AN EARLY INVOICE AND SAID THAT I HAD MISTAKEN A FINAL FINISH FLOURISH FOR AN "S" AND THAT THE FORMATION OF THE MISTAKEN LAST LETTER WAS A LOOP, NOT AN "S". Now that I look at my letter I believe he may be correct but my signature was much more hurried.
