Pardon me, the powers that be have decided that there will NOT be a special Texas South Zone Dove season this year, so I will sitting at home with a cold ice tea. The regular South Zone season begins 19 Sept by which time 75% of the time a cold front with rain has come through and there are no dove left.
Or perhaps I will be shooting sporting clays at the National Shooting Complex, having decided not to get a Texas license at all.

The last really good dove year around here: 2007

Opening day last year about 530PM. It was 102 deg F in the shade and Reba and I had enough and hopped into the truck, fired it up, turned on the AC and went home. 2 hours of 100 deg + temperatures is just no fun.
