For Gus and others in the gun community, who have pointed out how little attention, as a whole, is paid this issue [confiscatory gun laws as inevitable] in comparison to our 'fun' things:
If we lose this fight, it will be our own fault. A great deal of the opposition is hell-bent on MAKING everyone think their way. In fact, their identity and self-image requires that it be validated by that forcing of conformity. Those Who Would Rule Everything call it diversity, of course.
However good the NRA is at FIGHTING, we really have no plan for WINNING. The Aunties have definite and well-defined plans for winning -- permanently. The great majority of the ground work is being laid outside of this country, funded by George Soros's money, thru both the UN and NGO's [non-governmental organizations].
The gun trade will be killed by offering gun owning and gun producing countries heavy-duty trade and international monetary advantages, as an inducement to get on board with the International Civilian Disarmament movement. By going thru industrial and trade financing routes, the great majority of countries in the world may be hauled aboard that bandwagon.
As most of these countries already do not want civilian ownership of guns, or recognize the right of self defense, it will take little effort to cease production of firearms for civilians. That will be supported an overwhelming UN majority, OUTSIDE of gun owning countries and hailed with very good propaganda INSIDE the few remaining civilian gun owning countries. Whether it takes ten years or twenty or thirty, the long term goal is to isolate the US as a gun owning AND gun producing nation, while continuing with a strong propaganda program internally here.
Once when in South Africa [20 years ago] I spoke extensively with gun owners and gunstore owners, who were all for cooperating with the government on registration of guns and owners. After all, they reasoned, "It's our government; why not work with it?" How wrong they were, when it ceased to be their government and fell into the hands of Leftist Nationals.
The Aunties must be faced and beaten Internationally, and to do that a specialized group of international employees and proper financing is need. Otherwise, unless there is some widespread national calamity, where individual possession of means to effective defense becomes a widespread premium, then the apathy and indifference of gun owner will be the rock around the ankle that sinks them.
Non of the above is speculation or fantasy: it is exactly the well-publicized and well known plans of the Soros and the UN organizations. As well, the Socialist functionaries of the EU in Brussels are REALLY eager to wipe out the civil gun trade. It's 'a cause'. And, it has first class propaganda, with wonderful and creative artistry.
It's just that as group, we can't even conceive of the idea "wants to rule the world." Who would want to? Why? and etc.? We don't care fanatically and obsessively about forcing our views onto other people. We just want to be free to peacefully pursue our lives. Our bad, I guess?
So it goes in the history of humanity: from political and economic power to the worn out submission of a society with debased values, in a relatively few generations.
