Hi Jerry,
you will find that the 7mm Waters is ok to use in the small BSA Martini action.
Great variety of bullets in 7mm and even using 160 grainers I find no no problem with recoil with these little light weight rifles. Great for old guys like me if you are carrying it all day.
Using the thicker side wall Martini is a must when using it for anything over the 222 Rem. case. Not that you need it to increase the strength of the frame but to put more meat around the barrel shank.
If your gunsmith knows what he is doing he will time the breech block so that if you want to carry the rifle loaded you can insert a round into the chamber holding the lever down, the lever is then released slightly but not closed and and the breech block will them hold the round in place to stop it falling out. Or only place a round in halfway and the breech block will hold the cartridge like that and stop it falling out as well. Which is what I do.
That way if you fall off a cliff or something the breech cannot close which could be dodgy if your finger is anywhere near the trigger.
Or don't bother with any of that and only load when ready to fire as most people will tell you is the way to go.
Regards, Roly.
