Putting a cheap scope on a good rifle is like taking a $300 rod with a $200 reel on a $4000 fishing trip and having the reel filled with $1.79 per mile, K-mart line. There are very real differences between cheap scopes and expensive ones. That's why some are cheap. BTW, scopes don't "gather" light. They "allow" it to be transmitted. Better optics and larger objective lenses allow more of it to be transmitted. JL
