The record books before 1918 did not give much of a description of special features, but you could get a straight stock on any gun if ordered.
An example is the gun pictured above to the left, it is a No.2E with a straight stock with Crown Steel barrels, the one on the right is also a No.2E full pistol grip, the letter on this one states that it has 30" barrels, but does not state that they are Finest Damascus, which is unusual for a No.2 they usually came on a No.4. But in one column it states gun weighs 9 lbs. and shoots extremely close. The extra weight is from a 7/8" hole drilled into the stock and filled with lead.
Both have the first style ejectors.



The butt plate is uncommon and again a special order, showing two dogs on point. This was not a Hunter Arms butt plate.
