ken: the asault on constitutional freedom began in 1861, with the invasion of the sovereign state of virgina by a u.s. federal army.

what you are referring too, as the progressive movement, did in fact begin with the presidency of teddy roosevelt. it has continued, in the opinion of some as a quest for social justice for all citizens. and in the opinion of others, an unrelenting quest for big government control at the expense of freedom of the individual.

The Civil war was about ending the sociopathic statist religious infliction of Confederate Slavery upon free and equal individuals.

Of course Progressivism began with TR. It was later co-opted by the democrat pseudo-elitists like Wilson, and eventually taken over by the soviet-indoctrinated, Marxist operatives within the party. Like Obama and the current ideologues associated with him.

"Social Justice" is a pathetically sociopathic, subjective, unconstitutional term used to rationalize the enslavement of free and equal individuals to create and buy the votes of an entitled, statist, religious, subculture. All they have to do is worship religious statism, in the temple of the voting booth and before the altar of the ballot box. It has created Statist Neoslavery. All patently unconstitutional.

For practical purposes, we now live in the Neoconfederacy of the Democrat party.

I'm still waiting for your definition of what "Right Wing" means.

The Constitution was the result of the ideology that Man is a free and equal individual, and possesses "Natural Rights" such as Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. This concept of "The Individual" was a direct outgrowth of the Protestant Reformation, where the statist tyranny of the Catholic Church was rejected in favor of the Protestant concept of Man's ability to have a personal relationship with his deity. It was a rejection of the concept of "Intercession" by the Catholic Church to achieve salvation. The massive corruption within the church, as well as the creation of the Borgia "Indulgences" (Alexander VI) which enabled the rich to buy their way into salvation were the major factors behind Martin Luther's break with the church.

The parallels between the pre-reformation Catholic Church and the current statists is startling, with the rampant corruption and sociopathic confiscation of freedom and the subsequent vote-buying.

What is needed is an "American Reformation" with the return to the values of Individual Freedom and Equality under the Constitution.

Ed,
I didn't really consider this a debate. I was attempting to educate you. You're never too old to learn the truth.

Come November...

The political system in Washington is so screwed up no mere Republican could ever hope to change it.

Obama Care is here to stay only thing that might get rid of it is when the employer mandate kicks in...then the entire country will be on their feet.

What we need to pray for is a tsunami.

Dave is correct: He's on my ignore list and I doubt if I've missed anything. If he ever stated one useful piece of information before then I dont' remember it.
All those years of sniffing acetlyne apparently have taken their toll.
