Good advice. I've worked on the Southgate ejectors on "El Diablo"
my Spanish sporting gun with the same malady. The operation is not that complicated (to me). Take it slow with a stone.

Question is why does it trip early ?Is it just the regulation , have the springs been put in the wrong sides , are the kickers cocking correctly/fully ? All things to be checked before even thinking about touching anything .
