Once again, Ed is just part of the problem.
Unfortunately there are a lot of dealers out there that like to make up their own laws of extensions of the laws. I suppose they have the right to run their business any way they want. The best you can do is not do business with them because of it.
And it is not Illegal to enter an Antique into an A&D book. It is supposed to be entered as an "Antique" as the type of firearm.
And the dealer is supposed to have proper Identification to verify age of receiving person on the other end.
