Seems that replies are mixed on Wenigs.

I priced their "Excellent" grade American walnut. It would cost about $375. I would like the stock to finish at 15" to a butt plate. This would make it a custom job adding another $45.

A finished stock would run, as I remember, about $1,400.

At this price, I'll do the finishing.

I do have decent woodworking skills, a Foredom rotary tool, and a modecum of patience.

Perhaps I'll contact some of the names mentioned, before I make my decision.

Since I do not have access to stock blanks locally as some suggested, I'll have to trust somebody as to the quality of their blank.
