As far as the ATF is concerned you are entitled to be open by appointment only. Those are my hours and the Feds are quite happy with that arrangement. I've worked to years to achieve that status and plan on keeping it that way. As to Antiques, John Boyd hit it on the head. The goal of anyone who holds an FFL is to keep it and make it through your audits in good standing. I have lots of antiques not on the books but if I'm unsure it goes in the bound book.
