I would advise against that. After all the whole point is get the stock of your choice.

Contact Cecil Fredi. Let him know what the project is and how much you are willing to spend on the wood blank. He will email some pictures to you. If you want to see more, tell him, if you want close ups of certain blanks, just let him know. He is easy to work with, has a huge inventory and goes out of his way to please.

If you have the pattern you want, give Ed Shulin a call. He does the carving for a reasonable price. You can finish the stock yourself and then either checker it or find someone to do the checkering.
