Ballards are indeed nice. I have a 1 1/2 Hunter from Cody Rifle Works but it doesn't see a lot of use. A good argument could be made for just about any of the single shots from that era. Of today's manufacture of production single shots, in this country, only the Ruger #1 comes remotely close to any from say 1870 - 1920. Some of the low walls are pretty slick. The high wall is a dandy but to my eye not quite as svelte as the low wall....and those are all opinions and worth what you paid for them!
