I was born into and raised in loving Christian family. The older I get the more skeptical I'm of the whole thing. I suspect that is largely do to lack of tolerance and acceptance in that faith plus fixation on profits in some Christian denominations. I am fixated on that '.....with liberty and justice for all....' that is probably why I sometimes vote for Democrats. Have you ever considered fact that Karl Marx might have been right and perhaps there is no God?

Liberalism stems from education and understanding not from God or religion. Conservatism often stems from long held beliefs sometimes tied to religion and the so called 'FAITH'.

I'm OK with Marx not believing in God, where it goes bad for me is when a bunch of people end up in slave labor camps or dead for their belief in God. Seems it wasn't much of a jump to go from "there is no God" to "the state is God, and belief in a God other than the state gets you a free ride to the Gulag". And, it happens, just like that, everytime it is tried.
Best, Ted

The horrors that happened in Bolshevik Russia and Nazi Germany can be attributed to ideas of Karl Marx. These horrors also took place in Red China and Cambodia. The common theme is development or bringing about the 'New Man' or 'New Being', or whatever they called it.

The Democrats are Marxist, as well as Leninist and Maoist. They have been using the Soviet social science of Psychopolitics to indoctrinate their sociopathic, statist, religious beliefs.

I prefer wood to plastic, leather to nylon, waxed cotton to Gore-Tex, and split bamboo to graphite.

Ted, you've opened fresh thinking: People winding up in slave labour camps because they believe in God, a "jump" from belief to totalitarianism.
Your notion is as good or better than mine because I don't know if and where God enters into it although I never hoisted aboard God's Eternal Plan.
Ken says Democrats are Marxist as well as Leninists and Maoist, implying that all Democrats are tarred with some heathen brush. Does he know that?
Has anyone considered the evidence that nationalism seems a larger influence than faith? Catholics and Protestants killed co-religionists in both world wars.
There was no theological dispute between the Allies and Germany and Japan. There's an argument today the major religions arose in reaction to inequality of early ruling classes, and IS itself may be consequence of it as well.

Ted, you've opened fresh thinking.... Careful Ted, I think King is trying to lull you in. Hey King, Ted said it's the same old same old every time it's tried. When he states the obvious, well what's a person to think if another obvious is, it makes no impression on or difference to you and what you'll push as progress.
