It gets even better-people involved in the Falun Gong movement, a non-religous and non political healthy mind/body/soul movement in China get imprisoned to wait-to give up their internal organs to for profit transplant. The idea, you see, is to maximize profit to the state, so, the anesthesia is typically a bullet to the head, in such a way that the "patient" looses consciousness, but, doesn't die right away. The organs are then harvested, sold, and implanted, typically to rich, but, ailing Europeans. If the state's glorious workers are feeling benevolent, a second bullet finishes the patient off.
So, when the leap doesn't even involve belief in a God, and the penalty is profitable death of the individual for the state, is that even fresher thinking?

At the risk of another Ken indictment for moral equivalency, what's the difference in the numbers and cruelty of Falun Gong and unwarranted killings under capital punishment, legislated torture, kangaroo courts, renditions to Middle East for torture declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court?

Or possibly worse, invading Iraq on a whim, undermanned and under-resourced, without military having a choice---literally dropped into an acknowledged debacle---at the cost of 4,500 dead, 200,000 wounded and counting, a trillion dollars lost, tens of thousands of civilian casualties, millions of refugees, all sacrifices in vain.

The United States is not a totalitarian state.

Terrorists are NOT entitled to their day in court. They are entitled to be heard by a military tribunal and if found guilty a sack over their head before the noose.

Speaking of quagmires, why would bo turn to incoming Republican leaders to 'come together' on, don't say it, boots on the ground. Does he want to lead and see through a foreign policy issue, or set up the partisan attack before they even swear in.
